F5 Conference Logo

For the 2015 F5 Creative Festival, which was themed around the concept of Love, Buck made a series of short visual love poems to play between speakers at the event. I was tasked with the challenge to animate the logo of the word “love”.

Approach

When looking at the F5 Love logo, I was intrigued with imagining how their geometric shape may have originated, so I started to explore how I could make the text “unfurl”. Next, I decided to go outside my comfort zone and challenge myself by doing this through impossible shapes. Though the logo gives the appearance that its 3D, the entire animation was done using 2D shapes— creating an optical illusion.
